Practice
Heather Coffee is a member of the Firm’s insurance and litigation practice, focusing on the representation of insurers both as monitoring and coverage counsel. Before joining McClain & Young, she served the State of Texas as General Counsel to Senator Sarah Eckhardt, and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Environmental Protection Division.
While in law school, Heather represented indigent individuals charged with misdemeanor crimes in her school's clinical program, served on the Family Court Review journal where her note on the Texas foster care system was published, and was a pitcher on the Hofstra Club Softball team. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys performing improv comedy, cheering on the Longhorn softball team, and spending time with her husband, Alex, and their rescue dogs, Olive and Bobo.
Admissions and Affiliations
Heather is admitted to practice in the State of Texas and before the United State Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. She is an active member of the Austin Bar Association, Austin Young Lawyers Association, and the Travis County Women Lawyers’ Association.
